Can Humans Sense Earth's Magnetism? Sure they can!

Saw this article in Science Daily:
Can Humans Sense Earth's Magnetism?

I was surprised - I thought this was proven years ago. As I remember the facts:

The University of Minnesota tested a group of men and women (apparently out in the woods since they were away from magnetic influences).

Each volunteer was blindfolded, spun around, and asked to point north.

80% of men could point north consistently.

20% of men and all the women had no sense of direction.

They then attached magnets to the volunteers heads and repeated the experiment.

No one pointed north accurately.

If you have the link to the actual study, please send it.

The Minnesota study was about 30 years ago.

I did find this:
Gender Research: Exploring the Differences Between Men and Women
which is pretty much the same story.
